God Saw
God saw you getting tired
when a cure was not to be.
So he closed His arms around
you and whispered 'Come to Me'.

You didn't deserve what you went through,
so he gave you rest.
God's Garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.

And when we saw you sleeping,
so peaceful and free from pain,
we could not wish you back
to suffer that again.

Salmo Di Davide
Il Signore e il mio pastore:
non manco di nulla;
Davanti a me tu prepari una mensa sotto gli occhi dei miei nemici;
cospargi di olio il mio capo.
Il mio calice trabocca.
Felicita a grazia mi saranno compagne
tutti i giorni della mia vita,
e abitero nella casa del Signore
per lunghissimi anni.

Rita Caperchione
( in Centorame )

Rita Centorame, the only daughter of Giovanni and Maria Caperchione, passed away peacefully at Humber River Regional Hospital in Toronto Canada on Thursday March 15, 2001 in her 38th year after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. The Caperchiones moved from Castropignano in the early 1960's and settled in Toronto, Canada where Rita was born. In 1980, Rita won the honour of Miss Castropignano. It was a beauty pageant which included other participants from our town. She went on to represent Castropignano for the next 5 years. Rita was the beloved wife of Edward for over 14 years, the loving mother of Ozzie (10 years), Alannah (5 years), Edward (3 years) and sister of Camillo Caperchione. She will be greatly missed by her niece Sara and nephews Jonathan and Santino.

Rita's kindness touched so many people that friends and family gathered from Canada, the USA, England, and Italy to pay their respects at Ward Damiani Funeral Home in Toronto on Saturday and Sunday. She was the type of person who always thought of others first. Mourners patiently waited up to 3 hours for an opportunity to pay their respects. Her brother Camillo created a touching photographic and video time line of her life to remind everyone of Rita's happy, and always smiling nature.

On Monday March 19th, 2001 the funeral mass was filled beyond capacity at St. David's Church. The priest expressed that he had never delivered a funeral mass to this many people before. Her brother Camillo and Rita's 10 year old son, Ozzie gave touching eulogies that left everyone in tears. Camillo talked about how Rita was so many things to so many people, "Rita was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a niece, a cousin, an aunt, a godmother, a sponsor, and an incredible friend". Her son, Ozzie talked about what a wonderful mother she was, how deeply involved she was in their lives, and how much they will all miss her. Rita touched a lot of people and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
